We are committed to protecting your privacy. Our App is designed to serve the Muslim community with prayer times, Qibla direction, and mosque announcements. This policy comprehensively discloses all data that is accessed, collected, used, and shared by the App.

Information We Collect

Location Data

• What: Your device's location coordinates
• Why: To calculate and display the Qibla (direction to Makkah) for prayer
• When: Only when you access the Qibla compass feature
• Storage: Your location is processed on your device only and is NOT transmitted to our servers or stored

Device Information

• Push Notifications: Token (if you enable push notifications for prayer reminders and mosque announcements)
• Device Type: Basic device information for app compatibility purposes only

Usage Data

• What: Anonymous app usage statistics (such as which features are accessed)
• Why: To improve the App and user experience
• Storage: Aggregated and anonymised, not linked to any individual user

Health Data

The Croydon Mosque App does not request access to, collect, store, or process any health-related information, including but not limited to:

• Health & fitness data
• Medical or clinical data
• Step count, activity recognition, or physical activity data
• Heart rate, sleep, or biometric data
• Data from Google Health Connect, Apple HealthKit, or any other health platform

No health-related permissions are requested by the App, and no health-related APIs or SDKs are integrated into the App. Any device sensors used (such as the compass for Qibla direction) are used solely for navigational purposes and do not collect or infer any health information.

Data We Do NOT Collect

We want to be transparent about what we do not collect:

• Personal identification information (name, email, phone number)
• Financial or payment information
• Health, fitness, or biometric data
• Contacts or address book data
• Photos, videos, or media files
• Browsing history or search queries
• SMS, call logs, or communication data

How We Use Information

The limited data we process is used exclusively to:

• Display accurate prayer times for your area
• Calculate Qibla direction on your device
• Send mosque announcements and prayer reminders (if notifications are enabled)
• Improve app performance and user experience

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal data with third parties. The only exceptions are:

• Push Notification Services: We use platform notification services (Apple Push Notification Service and Firebase Cloud Messaging) to deliver notifications. These services receive your device token only.
• Analytics: We may use anonymised, aggregated analytics to understand app usage patterns. No personally identifiable information is shared.

Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect any data processed by the App. Location information is processed entirely on your device and is not transmitted to our servers, reducing the risk to your personal information.

Children's Privacy

Our App does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13. The App is designed as a community tool for all age groups within the mosque community and does not require any personal information to function.

Your Rights

Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR), you have the right to:

• Request access to any data we hold about you
• Request deletion of your data
• Withdraw consent for push notifications at any time through your device settings
• Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO)

Since our App does not require user accounts or store personal data on our servers, most of these rights are automatically satisfied by the design of our App.
